Since this is a semi-hard sci-fi, I try to get the science as accurate as possible. That said, no one has ever done this form of space travel before so there are parts of science I learn that requires change sometimes when I think about it from a different point of view and therefore have to change the lore.  Hyuzef was supposed to be 7ly away when I started making this assuming that there were a lot more stars closer to earth just that didn't have candidate planets in the habitable zone. There are cases where planets can be masked by orbiting perfectly perpendicular to us (hence why Hyzef wasn't able to discover Chiron before earth did), and if there is a lot of debris cloud around the star.  There may also be other things that mask and hide planets that we don't know about.  

I began looking for stars near us that could if you squinted really hard could possibly have hidden planets in habitable zones. I was shocked to discover that beyond the 4ly of the alpha centauri system, there were an average of 2 stars every ly away from us until you got to 10 ly and all of them were crappy candidates for hyuzef.  To be fair the 10 ly stars aren't the best candidates either but they are plausable. better would be 11 or 12, but 10 is already pushing the limits of how long someone would have to be in the neuronauts program dedicating 30-40 years of your life with no way out.  

Because I was doing the timeline in my head, I messed up the time that the hyuzefians had to be in the neuronaut program because I was still thinking in the 7ly or chiron 4 ly way of thing I underestimated how long the hyuzefians especially Wubopi had been in the program.  I sat down and wrote up a timeline I forgot the 10 year trip back.  Wubopi has 6 years of earth memory meaning she has been in the program for 26 years now and Janizef for 22, though I reworked it and now she has 3 years of memory making it 23.  Those 2 were still emotionally celebate because they were also part of the chiron mission so that could end once it made it to chiron until the gates were built. 

I also thought about the the seasons I had set up of 3 weeks of spring and fall and 1 week of winter and summer and found sufficient amount of food growing in that amount of time from pollination to fruiting wasn't really logical especially under a weaker star.  stone fruits are the fastest fruits we have and they take 3 months from pollinating to harvest.  Anyway. I'm going to have to rethink the seasons.  

As Girove and Thebzhig both put it "Damn you science you ruined it!"     

So there will be a science/lore changelog in the next update to let people know what has changed scientifically and why. This will be accessible in the computer console in the bedroom.   Hopefully I wont run into anything that seriously damages the story, at which point it will just have to be a pure sci-fi, and pretend its in a alternate dimension where things are different enough.
